Drew Burdaky is a 17-year-old guy who gets
by on his dreams of becoming the next Jedward; even his hair is inspired by the
duo. This article is going to be about his struggles in the daily life, what
exactly happens at the X- Factor auditions, and how he is going to make it
through this time.
I started off the interview by asking him
where was it that the audition took place, he replied with “the audition was at
old Trafford, so it was easy enough to get to” I then wanted to know how long
he had to wait for the actual audition, he told me that he had to wait for 9
hours standing up wit cunt h his father also waiting, and after all that time
it was all to just go home with depression.
I then asked about his feelings to do with
about the actual audition, first I asked how he felt going into the audition
room and how the environment felt, he told me that he thought that “this was
his moment to shine” and “Even though I was really nervous, the environment was
very welcoming and had a nice vibe”
When in the actual interview, Drew
proceeded to sing two songs, “Aint no sunshine” by Bill withers and “So Sick”
by Neo and he sung the first verse and chorus of each of the songs before they
stopped him. He told me that he sung them both to the best of his ability, and
at the point of singing them; he told me that he thought he had this audition
in the bag.
After the audition Drew had no idea what
was going to happen next, when the judge finally spoke she said, “The voice is
good, but what you lack is confidence” and then told him “Try again next year”.
Drew went on to tell me that the reason that he thinks that they said that was
because he wasn’t expecting them to ask for a second song, and him having to
think of one may have came across of him being more awkward/less confident. Drew
walked out of the audition feeling down on his luck, and in his words “gutted”
but he told me that this would not get him down, and that he wanted to go back
and prove them wrong when he is a singing God.
